Mala

Mala was a famous Pakistani playback singer of Urdu and Punjabi films.Her real name was Naseem Nazli .She was born in Faisalabad .Naseem was interested in singing and music from a young age. Fortunately, her elder sister happened to be her first music teacher and Naseem learnt the essentials of music from her.
Mala was a top female singer and only the second best to Madam Noor Jehan as playback singer. She sung many super hit songs in almost two decades singing career in the 60s/70s. Prominent musician G.A. Chishti introduced her in a Punjabi film Aabroo in 1961. Her first Urdu film was Suraj Mukhi but she got breakthrough from film Mehboob . Mala faded out of the popular music scene towards the late seventies and died on March 6,1990.
